Chair taking shape

After several days of mocking up various back-slat geometries and profiles, I have concluded that the most comfortable layout is a mid-back rest with no slats. It is basically the Maloof low back but about 5 inches taller.

After 24 grit paper on a rotary sander and a foredom grinder, Here is the current status of the chair.

After a bit more work refining the various contours of the chair, I will epoxy up the chair and move on to 80 grit paper, scrapers and rasps. It is certainly looking more and more like a chair.
