Wow, I’m really impressed by what I’ve seen of this chair so far, Sam! Great to see you “defying tradition” by fitting the seat directly to the legs. Really interesting joinery. Also like the trick for hogging out most of the seat’s waste before gluing it up – wasn’t that one of Sam Maloof’s great ideas?
Sam Maloof was certainly the inspiration behind much of this chair. The leg joint as well as the band-sawn coopered seat were features on nearly all of his chairs.
